
Over 90% of the 335 mayor’s offices were won by the Venezuelan Socialista Party (PSUV).
“Three victories of the Venezuelan people, we have defeated the U.S. imperialism with votes. The path is the popular unity and when I say, Maduro, I say motherland, I say people and woman and I say it humbly.” Maduro pointed out it by criticizing those ones who he called as secessionists.
According to the data shown by the Venezuelan National Electoral Counsel (CNE), the participation reached the 47.32 % which represents a fall of almost 12 points in comparison to previous municipal elections.
In these elections the PSVU would have achieved more than the 300 mayor’s offices of the 335 ones of that nation, while it achieved 240 ones in the elections of 2013.
In the case of the five municipalities of Caracas city, the PSVU kept the higher number of votes. The Libertador municipality where the Miraflores Palace is located.
“Caracas has chosen am outstanding leader as Erika Farias, who is the first female mayor of Caracas city. We surpassed the oligarchy’s candidate who got more than the 65% of the votes that is a record on votes.” The head of state said as a mutual congratulation.
The Chavismo movement also recovered Sucre municipality and three opponents who are closer of the local Justicia Party of Henrique Capriles, won Chacao, Baruta and El Hatillo municipalities which are anti Chavismo strongholds.
The PSUV achieved 23 out of the 24 capital cities of the nation.
