María Alejandra Vicuña was temporarily appointed as the vice president of Ecuador on October 5th while replacing, Jorge Glas, who was imprisoned due to allegedly corruption crimes. She had been the minister of Housing in the office of Lenin Moreno.

Announcement by Alianza País Party

After many individual and group announcements of the Alianza País political party (AP), that bloc made an official announcement about its position before the situation of the vice president, Jorge Glas.

Through the social networks, the AP 35 bloc published their message addressed to the members of that movement and the public opinion.

In the communique, it is stated that it is respected the performances of the state and the public administration will be the one in change of clarify the truth.

Likewise, it is stated that the role of the lawmakers is keeping the respect for the law and the existence of an independent and free justice from external pressures. Moreover, it has been ratified the commitment about fighting against the corruption, without special treaty, and it is requested the firm, transparent and diligent procedure by the local justice administration.
