Family members of the Cuban anti terrorist fighters imprisoned in the United States reiterated that only bringing the international pressure to bear on the US president Barack Obama as well as the solidarity of nations could release Ramón Labañino, René González, Gerardo Hernández, Fernándo González and Antonio Guerrero.
During a meeting held with members of the Adela Ferrero Carlos Luis Sáenz Costa Rican brigade, Mirtha Rodríguez and Magaly Llort, who are mothers of Antonio Guerrero and Fernando González, respectively, insisted on the fact that there is no another legal via given that the US legal system has proved to be a biased one against those five men who have been defenders of peace.
Once the meeting concluded, Luis Alfonso Pardo Martínez, member of the Central Executive Committee and Secretary of International Relation of the Vanguardia Popular Party of Costa Rica, said that it is necessary to strengthen the support for the Cuban people that has taught mankind the real concept of solidarity.
“The truth is that those words reached the fibers of my heart, as a poet said once, so, after listening to those testimonies I could feel their sadness, however, those words make one to feel stronger to take the path of solidarity and at the same time watching the way the US government tries to destroy and condemn those men who dream and want to feel free.”
“The aforementioned fact constitutes to me a historical feature from empires. A man who thinks differently and dreams with the freedom of its people becomes an enemy of the empire and I believe that the prisons from the United States would not be enough to contain millions of people who think exactly as the Cuban heroes,” Pardo Martínez concluded.
The Adela Ferrero Carlos Luis Sáenz brigade of solidarity, which arrived in Cuba in January 13th, will stay on the island until the upcoming January 26th. It was created in the year 2011 and it will return to Cuba every two years. By Abel González
