HAVANA, Cuba.- Gloria La Riva, Coordinator of the US National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, reaffirmed in Teheran her support for the cause of these patriots, unfairly incarcerated in US jails.
The Iranian Press TV television channel reported Cuba’s presence in the International Digital Media Fair of Teheran, the stand of which was visited by the activist during the event’s inauguration, the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s Web site reports.
In her statements, La Riva condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US against Cuba; she reaffirmed her support for the Cuban Revolution and her commitment to denounce the unjust conditions in which the five antiterrorists are incarcerated.
Over the last twelve years, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez are serving harsh sentences for monitoring the activities of Florida-based, anti-Cuban organizations, in order to warn the Caribbean island about their criminal actions.
The celebration of Cuba Day has been scheduled for October 15 at the International Digital Media Fair in Teheran.
