Belarusian artists at CIRCUBA for the First Time in 20 Years

Minsk, Belarus. The state-run circus of Belarus (CEB) will participate in the Circuba festival for the first time with two of its most important figures, the gymnast Alena Kulikova and Serge Bondarchuk, who is the artistic director of the Belarusian Company.
In an interview carried out with executives of the CEB, it was informed that Serge Bondarchuk will take part of the jury of the 11th festival of the 2012 CIRCUBA event that is planned to take place between August 22 through the 26 in the local Trompoloco circus which the main venue of the competitions of the 2012 Circuba festival in Havana city.
On its part, Alena Kulikova, who is young participant with international presentations in circus stages from Germany, Russia and the Scandinavian nations, will compete in the official section of the Circuba festival in the Flying Ring specialty.
The event, which is annually organized by the National Circus of Cuba and the National Council of the Performing arts that belongs to the Cuban Ministry of Culture, will be privileged with the participation of those artists of the CEB that is one of the most prestigious circus institutions in the world.
The participation of Belarus in the Circuba event was preceded by the season that lasted from February to May in which acrobats, gymnasts, clowns and dancers from the Cuban National Circus performed in the venue of the CEB in Minsk.
Along with the Belarusian delegation, the 2012 CIRCUBA event, which is regarded as the main competitive contest of its type in the Latin American mainland, announces a wide participation of circus artists from other 16 nations such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
