Cienfuegos to Invest in the ALFICSA: the Biggest Cuban Distillery

The biggest Cuban ALFIC.SA Alcoholes Finos de Caña distillery, which is located in the local Aguada de Pasajeros town and under a related investment with specialists from Spain, should resume its production since the upcoming month of March.

That work by the joint Cuban and Spain enterprise, which plans to produce 16 million of liters of alcohol and exporting over 50%, is at 60% of being carried out.

That factory from Cienfuegos province had been six years without being used and it was decided to open a business where the foreign side was adding the higher quantity of capital and technology that would be similar to a highest quality of the production.

“To guarantee in that ALFIX.SA Plus enterprise, it would mean much better quality and quantity of alcohol than the previous one as it would trade with the local Havana Club International enterprise, Cuban Ron and Suchel ones.” Engineer, Maya Rodríguez Rivero said.

“We export more than the 50 % of the production. We had partners in the previous enterprise and we have already contacted some companies for this current year.” Maya Rodríguez Rivero said.

“When we use the vacuum technology, high temperatures are not produced and the alcohol is obtained with a higher quality. Our alcohol has not a smell and it is very transparent, besides, it is highly demanded even in the pharmaceutical Cosmetic industry because its smell enables to combine different brands, just like in the production of rums.”
