Cleveland City Council advocates urgency to end US blockade over Cuba

José Ramon Cabañas, Cuban ambassador to the United States, published on his Twitter account the emergency resolution approved by the Cleveland City Council calling for an end to the blockade of the US government against Cuba.

The Cleveland City Council approves a resolution calling for an end to the United States' economic, commercial and financial embargo against Cuba and urges President Donald Trump to renew negotiations with the Cuban government, as the policy the last administration began, "the diplomat tweeted.

The initiative indicates that trade relations between USA and Cuba would benefit both countries, particularly in the areas of food production, education, health, tourism, arts, biotechnology, and medical research.

In addition, the document points to the hostility of President Donald Trump and adds that the removal of the siege would allow renewed diplomatic relations and also direct travel of citizens and mail service, as well as a significant impact on international trade.

The text states that the resolution, with copy for Trump and members of the Ohio Congressional Delegation, constitutes an emergency measure for the immediate preservation of public peace, property, health and safety.
