Cuba and Belize Conclude Migratory Talks

The 1st Round of Cuba-Belize Migratory Talks concluded in Havana after two days of negotiations headed by Ambassador Ernesto Soberon Guzman, Director of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad of the Cuban Foreign Ministry and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belize Patrick Andrews.

According to the CubaMinrex website, both delegations evaluated the behavior of the migratory flow during the working sessions of the two nations.

Both sides reiterated the importance of these types of encounters aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and reaffirmed the commitment of the governments of Cuba and Belize to implement joint actions with the objective of increasing bilateral cooperation in the migration sector.

Negotiations began for a Memorandum of Understanding in Migration with the objective of promoting the regular, orderly and safe migratory flow in addition to combat illegal traffic of migrants and human trafficking.
