HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba’s presidency over the only body of multilateral negotiations as to disarmament at the UN during 2011 ended, reports the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry ( www.cubaminrex.cu).
As Cuba was the last president of that body, the Cuban permanent representative to the UN in Switzerland, Rodolfo Reyes, will present in October the report of the Disarmament Conference to the United Nations General Assembly, with headquarters in New York.
Reyes, expressed his gratitude on behalf of Cuba for the countless expressions of recognition received in Geneva, on the effective presidency of the Caribbean island over the Disarmament Conference.
Cuba feels that it is vital to meet the goal of general disarmament, and particularly the goal of a world free from nuclear weapons, as it has affirmed in countless opportunities.
