Cuba: Guest of Honor of the Costa Rican Literary Fair

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba was selected as guest of honor country of the 11th International Book Fair of Costa Rica, to be held from August 28th through September 5th.

Dunia Solano, president of the Costa Rican Book Association, explained that Cuba was selected as guest of honor country this year due to the prominent role the island has played in Caribbean literature and culture, the EFE news agency reports.

Jaime Sarusky, historian Maria del Carmen Barcia, and philologist Zaida Capote, will be part of the Cuban delegation to the most important literary meeting of that Central American nation.

According to the Cubasi Web site, more than 40 exhibitors from publishing houses and book stores will participate in the event, with the presence of professionals from Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Spain and the Dominican Republic.
