Cuba hosts International Festival Jazz Plaza 2020

A tribute in concert to the work of Cuban bassist and composer Juan Formell (1942-2014) and the 50th anniversary of his renowned orchestra Los Van Van, hosted by prominent pianist Dayramir Gonzalez, will open today the 35th International Festival Jazz Plaza 2020, with events in Havana and Santiago de Cuba provinces running until January 19.

The concert will take place at 6:00 pm at the National Theatre with guests like the Camerata Romeu, Telmary, Ivette Cepeda, Alain Perez, Alexander Abreu, Barbarito Torres, Pedrito Calvo, Mayito Rivera, Roberton, Mandy Cantero, Teresa Yanet, Brenda Navarrete, Luna Manzanares, David Blanco and Yoruba Andabo.

The program, intense in its two host cities, will include other presentations where Cuban and foreign artists will perform, as well as the usual International Jazz Colloquium Leonardo Acosta in Memoriam, which on this occasion reaches its 15th edition, starting January 15, at Havana´s Fabrica de Arte Cubano.
