Cuban Baseball: players hired in Japan and others on their way to Mexico

The signing of contracts of six ballplayers to play in the Japanese Professional Baseball League (NPB), and five others in that of Mexico, stand out in Cuban baseball after finishing the 59th edition of the National Series.

DH Alfredo Despaigne and OF Yurisbel Gracial renewed for another two years with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, while the contract of lefty reliever Livan Moinelo remained in force.

The other three Cuban players who will be present in the NPB will be catcher Ariel Martinez and RHP Raidel Rodriguez, for one and two years, respectively, with the Chunichi Dragons, to whom will now join the also RHP Yariel Rodriguez (1).

The signing of contracts of Cuban ballplayers will continue today, but in the Mexican League, when RHPs Carlos Juan Viera and Lazaro Blanco will sign for the Saltillo Saraperos.

Although it is pending officialization, there is also interest from Mexican soil and especially by the Tabasco Olmecas with OF Raico Santos, LHP Yoanni Yera and IF Cesar Prieto.
