LONDON, UK.- Boxer Lazaro Alvarez (56 kilos) got the fourth victory of Cuban boxing, thus far undefeated at London’s Olympic Games.
Alvarez, world champ at Baku 2011, defeated US Joseph Diaz 21 to 15 in a combat in which the Cuban markedly used rapid movements and short-distance attacks.
The Cuban boxer will now face Brazilian Robinelson de Jesus to secure the bronze medal. Previously, Roniel Iglesia (64 kilos), Robeisy Ramirez (52 kilos) and Yosbani Veitia (49 kilos) won in their respective categories.
