The Cuban Camagua Folk Company returned to this city after participating in eight international festivals in France and Belgium.

Fernando Medrano, the troupe’s director and choreographer, told ACN abut the successful results of the two-month tour, during which the Cuban artists shared the stage with delegations from 19 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.

He pointed out that one of the awards conferred to the group was the Prize to Exceptionality for Artistic Quality, given by the town council of Reims and the French office of the International Folk Festival Organizing Committee.

Other acknowledgements were the Medal of Honor and the Plaque to Artistic Excellence, granted by the town councils of La Richardais and Garignan (France), respectively.
