Pinar Del Rio, Cuba.- Cuban dancers Carlos Acosta, principal guest artist of the Royal Ballet, and prima ballerina Viengsay Valdes will perform this Saturday in the westernmost province of Pinar del Rio.
On the occasion of the long awaited performance of Carlos Acosta, provincial authorities decided to place huge screens outside the Jose Jacinto Milanes Theatre.
A specialist of the theatre, Rosmery Martinez, told ACN that the facility’s 500 seats will not be enough taking into account the public’s excitement since the announcement of Acosta’s visit to the province.
Acosta has taken a pause in his international agenda and is now taking a tour through five Cuban provinces –– Santiago de Cuba, Camagüey, Cienfuegos, Havana and Pinar del Río.
During his performance in this province, he will also be accompanied by dancer Laura del Rio, pianist Lisandra Rodriguez and cellist Amparo del Riego.
Acosta, who studied at the provincial school of ballet, said that End of time, by Ben Stevenson, Je ne regrette rien, Suite of dances, by Jerome Robbins, Le bourgeois and Two are some of the pieces included in the program.
The Cuban dancer added that he would like to share everything his has learned with the Cuban people.
