
Eugenio Gonzalez, Cuban deputy minister of education, denounced today at the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris, the damages caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States to the Cuban education system.
In the context of the 40th General Conference of UNESCO, Gonzalez explained that, despite the worsening and hostility of US policy, Cuba is working to guarantee the quality of education at all levels of education.
According to Gonzalez, despite the adverse scenario represented by the U.S. blockade that has been in force for almost 60 years, Cuba continues to be committed to improving its inclusive education system.
Cuban deputy minister also referred to the solidarity shown by Cuba, as a key principle since the triumph of the Revolution of January 1, 1959, a field also attacked by the blockade applied and tightened by the last 11 administrations in the White House.
The education sector is among the most sensitive, severely impacted by the application of the blockade of Washington, according to the report "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States of America against Cuba", presented by the Cuban Foreign Minister at the UN, where it obtained once again the support of the majority of the international community.
