Cuban deputy minister of Science and Enviroment visits Italy

Armando Rodriguez Batista, Deputy Minister of the Science, Technology and Environment Ministry (CITMA), heads the Cuban delegation which started a working visit to Italy today to participate in the 9th Italy - Latin America and the Caribbean Conference (#ItalyAmLat).

The #ItaliaAmLat Conference, held in Rome on October 9 and 10, is the main intergovernmental meeting held every two years for joint exchange between Latin American countries and that European nation, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The biannual event, now in its 9th edition, is hosted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci) and the Italian-Latin American Institute, and has as its main issues sustainable development and growth, social progress and safeguarding the environment.

According to Cubaminrex, during his stay in Italy, the Cuban deputy minister, apart from meetings with Maeci authorities, as well as with representatives of other countries attending the Conference, is scheduled to meet with government authorities and Italian counterparts of CITMA, in order to continue fostering bilateral ties in this field.
