Cuban Film Festival to be Held in Ecuador

HAVANA, Cuba.- The film festival “Cuba: New Millennium” will be held in Ecuador from August 3rd through the 9th. It will include five movies, which will evidence the diversity of themes and genres and also the technical and artistic quality of today’s Cuban cinema.
Bailando Cha Cha Cha (Manuel Herrera, 2005), La edad de la Peseta (Pavel Giroud, 2006), Paginas del diario de Mauricio (Manuel Perez, 2006), El cuerno de la abundancia (Juan Carlos Tabio, 2008), and Lisanka (Daniel Diaz, 2009), make up the selection, represented in Quito by Diaz.
In addition to the Ecuadorian capital, the films will be screened in the cities of Cuenca, Azogues, Loja, Latacunga, Ambato, Puyo and Guaranda, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
The festival has the support of several Ecuadorian cultural Institutions and of the Cuban embassy to that nation.
