Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla arrived in the Dominican Republic to participate in the foreign ministers meeting of the Fifth Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) that starts this Tuesday.
According to Prensa Latina news agency, after the Ministerial meeting the coordinators from the member states will work on the documents the heads of State and Government will approve on Wednesday.
Among the topics to be discussed are food security, migration and development, drug consumption and trafficking, nuclear disbarment, gender, women´s rights, indigenous culture, among others.
Cuba will present the necessity of ending the US blockade and the devolution of the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo bay naval base.
The CELAC Summit will be officially inaguarated this Tuesday night by Dominican President Danilo Medina.
On Wednesday, participant will approve the Political Declaration of Punta Cana, the Plan of Action that will rule the bloc in 2017, and also 19 Special Declarations
