Cuban National Ballet Opens Stand at Book Fair in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba.- The Cuban National Ballet Company opened a stand in the Morro-Cabaña Historical Military Complex, main venue of the 21 International Book Fair, which kicked off on February 9.
At the stand the public will be able to buy books, magazines, posters and other ballet specialized materials, including “El Ballet en Cuba. Apuntes históricos” (Ballet in Cuba. Historical Notes) by historian Miguel Cabrera.
This book will be launched this Friday with an introduction by renowned writers Eduardo Heras León and Roberto Méndez.
Also, within the Fair framework, the director of the Cuba en el Ballet publishing house Pedro Simon, will deliver a keynote speech on late scriptwriter Virgilio Piñera and his relationship with ballet.
This speech will be part of a panel to honor the centennial of Piñera, and will have the participation of researchers Ivette Fuentes de la Paz and Pablo Arguelles, that will lead the debates
