Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez will arrive today in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, to attend the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), to be held on October 25-26.
It is the first time a Cuban head of state visits this Central Asian country with a millenary history, surrounded by the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus mountains and nearly 10 million inhabitants.
Diaz-Canel will arrive there from Belarus, where he made an official visit.
Previously, the Cuban leader went in Ireland and when the Summit finishes he will travel to Russia.
The Non-Aligned Movement was born in Belgrade in 196 and Cuba was among its founders and was the first Latin American country to join it.
