
Roberto Morales Ojeda, Vice President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, began today an official visit to Singapore, after participating in the enthronement ceremony of the emperor of Japan, Naruhito, and also opening the first Cuba-Japan Business Forum on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
As part of his program of activities, Morales Ojeda held several meetings today with authorities of that Asian nation, such as PM Lee Hsien Loong; Deputy PM and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat, as well as with Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.
Cuba and Singapore established diplomatic relations on April 18, 1997, and both countries have strong economic-commercial ties, especially in the biotechnological field.
The Cuban VP is accompanied by Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and Cuban ambassador to that Asian nation.
