Beatriz Johnson, vice president of Cuba´s State Council, arrived today in the Russian city of St. Petersburg to attend the 2nd Eurasian Women's Forum, sponsored by the Federation Council (Russian Senate), reported Prensa Latina (PL) news agency.
Johnson has scheduled tomorrow a meeting with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko, as part of the official program in the context of the event, which takes place at the Tavrichesky Palace.
That day she will speak in the plenary session of with the topic ¨Women for social security and sustainable development.¨
In addition, the Cuban executive will hold a meeting with Ilyas Umakhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, and at night, she will attend a reception offered by the Chairman of the Russian Senate, Valentina Matvienko, hostess of the event.
The Cuban vice president will also participate in the panel ¨Women Governors: Strategies of effectiveness and development of the territories.¨
