Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, said that quality must distinguish summer options and reiterated the call to combat vulgarity and sloppiness, according to information published today on the website of the Presidency.
The president insisted on the need to create more recreational spaces for adolescents and young people, without disturbing the rest of the community; and to work intelligently, having savings as a premise, in the midst of a tense economic situation.
These statements were issued at a meeting of the Working Group in charge of attention to recreation - shared through videoconference with all provinces - where he stressed that public servants work for the people, which involves a permanent vigilance and use of tools that can warn in time when something is failing.
In such a way, the Head of State indicated to solve immediately the problems that have arisen in several territories with the supply of beer, soft drinks and jams. More agile responses are needed, he demanded, especially in a stage as sensitive as that of the summer.
During the working meeting, information was offered on the Vívelo 2019 application, created with the objective of promoting the summer billboard throughout the country. As a result of the collaboration between the Youth Communist League and the University of Computer Science, the application is available and can be downloaded from the website www.apklis.cu
As in previous years, the organization of summer camps in schools of the general education system was known, to which the universities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Public Health are now added, where cultural, historical, productive, environmental and social impact activities are planned. Between July and August, more than 42,000 young people will be rotating through these sites.
The Youth Zone has also been designed, a proposal born from the XI Congress of the UJC, defined as an integrating project in the communities. Some 800 have been selected with complexities in their environment, where young people will contribute to productive, economic and social work.
For her part, María Elena Salgado Cabrera, First Deputy Minister of Culture, gave an account of the activities carried out by this organization during the first days of the summer stage, which has included events such as the Fiesta del Fuego in Santiago; Fiesta de Música Alternativa Ciudad del Mar in Cienfuegos and the Gibara International Film Festival.
In addition, summer workshops have been organized, developed by art schools and houses of Culture; tours of musical and theater groups; book presentations; concerts, among many other activities that have counted more than two million participants.
In this regard, the vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Roberto Morales Ojeda, considered that the Ministry of Culture has organized a good program, but insisted on the urgency of providing more spaces.
That is why the meeting instructed the directors of the provinces to define new places, especially in open areas, aimed primarily at young audiences, most of whom are on vacation.
