President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, congratulated the men volleyball team for its victory against Brazil, which allowed it to pass to the Lima 2019 Pan American Games grand final to be played this Sunday.
The Cuban head of state said in a message on Twitter that the island's young team is promising a lot and making great progress.
'Congratulations for the win over Brazil,' the president wrote on his account @DiazCanelB, using the tags #SomosCuba and #SomosContinuidad. The Cuban team won the game 3-0 on Saturday at the Callao sports centre in Lima.
This Sunday the Cuban team will compete for the gold medal against Argentina, who beat Chile 3-1 in the semi-final.
