Diaz-Canel fulfills agenda of exchanges in London

Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, held a meeting with Philip Hammond, second figure of the British government and Chancellor of the Exchequer, during the transit stop in London.

We had a meeting with Philippe Hammond, Chancellor of the United Kingdom, who visited Cuba as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in 2016. It was the first official visit of a British chancellor to our country since 1958, Diaz-Canel wrote on Twitter.

Also on Twitter, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the Cuban President and the representative of the British government exchanged on current issues of bilateral relations.

During his stay in the capital of the United Kingdom, Diaz-Canel also met with workers from the Cuban Embassy and representatives of Cuban institutions in this country.

The president arrived in London for a transit stop after completing a broad agenda of work in Russia, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, People's Republic of China, Vietnam and Laos.

In those countries he met with the highest government and political authorities, visited places of historical and cultural interest, talked with businessmen and members of solidarity movements with the island and made several economic and trade agreements.

This is Diaz-Canel's first international tour as President of the Councils of State and Ministers.
