With the participation of some twenty official delegations from different countries in the area and international organizations, as well as companies from some 20 countries and more than 140 Cuban entities, the Expocaribe 2019 trade fair begins this Wednesday in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.
Official delegations include the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), headed by Mrs. June Soomer, ACS Secretary General; the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the United Nations (UN), as well as more than 15 countries in the area.
The opening of the second trade fair of Cuba is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., there will be the commemorative postal cancellation of the XVI edition of Expocaribe and the different forums and commercial meetings will begin.
As is tradition, the Fair includes the XII edition of the Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean, which includes a Business Round on the 20th and 21st, as well as seminars on ACS issues, including trade, transport, multi-destination tourism, investment and cooperation in the Greater Caribbean.
The event will also be the ideal framework for the ECLAC "CaribbeanFirst" meeting, for the XX Session of the Cuba-Mexico Business Committee and on this occasion for the Forum of Trade Promotion Organizations of the Greater Caribbean.
At the same time, there will be cultural galas, presentations of multi-awarded musical groups, visits to places of historical and tourist interest, and other activities that will enrich what is already a successful commercial event.
After 11 years of recess, Expocaribe 2019 has generated great expectations for the commercial opportunities it offers to the nations of the Caribbean and to those of other areas of the world interested in doing business with the countries of the region.
