There is a service of this kind in each province of the nation that is dedicated to the aforementioned patients who should plan the right moment for the conception, thus avoiding the high-level of congenital malformations in fetus.
Since its creation in the year 2003, the abovementioned program has demonstrated that the majority of the diabetic women with a proper metabolic control have achieved a healthy offspring, but the risk of perinatal death and congenital malformations is higher in those groups of people who attend to the consultation in advance state of pregnancy.
´The program should be initiated before achieving their offspring so that to make a constant metabolic control. Besides, the patients are given a blood glucose monitoring meter with its test strips.´ the doctor pointed out.
