Barely a few hours after the announcement of the Cuban President Raul Castro of the death of Revolution leader Fidel Castro, tens of world leaders have sent their condolences.
Among the first heads of State to express his view on the death of Fidel was India´s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wrote in his twitter account ¨I extend my deepest condolences to the Government & people of Cuba on the sad demise of Fidel Castro. Fidel Castro was one of the most iconic personalities of the 20th century. India mourns the loss of a great friend.¨
Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto said the Cuban Revolution leader was a friend of his country and that he had promoted bilateral relations based on respect, dialogue and solidarity.
The Salvadorian President Salvador Sanchez posted in twitter ¨with great sorrow we received the news of the death of the dear friend and eternal comrade, Commander Fidel Castro¨
France´s president François Hollande said that Fidel was a great figure in the 20th century and that he had embodied the Cuban revolution
Messages from the Spanish and South African governments were in the same tune. Leaders like Ecuador´s Rafael Correa, Evo Morales and others also expressed their condolences
