Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda receives Cuban deputy FMACN

Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, received today Cuban deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra, who arrived in the Caribbean nation last Monday on an official visit to be extended until Nov. 13.

The top leader of Antigua and Barbuda expressed his people' gratitude for the Cuban cooperation in various sectors of the economy and society, Sierra posted on Twitter.

The Cuban deputy foreign minister offered an exclusive interview to ABS TV, in which he recognized the excellent state of diplomatic relations and friendship between the two nations, and thanked Antigua for its support on the Cuban people's struggle against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.

Sierra also exchanged with several government leaders of that country, among them Foreign Minister Chet Greene and Steadroy Benjamin, Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General.

Cuba and Antigua and Barbuda established diplomatic relations in 1994, based on cooperation and fruitful exchange for both sides.

The Cuban deputy minister arrived in Saint John, the capital city of Antigua, from the Dominican Republic, where he led the Cuban delegation to the 9th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the East Asia-Latin America Cooperation Forum.
