Havana to Host 2nd International Convention on Tourist Studies

HAVANA, Cuba.- The 2nd International Convention on Tourist Studies, CietCuba 2012, will be held in this capital from June 18th through the 20th, with the purpose of encouraging scientific studies in tourism and expanding the forward-looking approach in this sector.
In a press conference, Ramon Martin, president of the Organizing Committee pointed out that some 200 representatives from Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, the United States, Spain and Holland, including prominent personalities in this field, have already confirmed their attendance.
He said that self-employed workers linked to tourism, like restaurant owners and persons who rent rooms or houses, will participate in this Convention for the first time.
Climate change and the environment; the world economic crisis; information technologies and communications; as well as the generation of new jobs, will be some of the topics under debate in the various sessions, underlined Martin.
