Int’l Scientific Conference on Sports to Take Place in Bayamo, Cuba

BAYAMO, Cuba. - Cuban and foreign delegates will take part in the first international scientific conference on physical education, sports and recreation starting January 31 in the eastern city of Bayamo, Granma.
Running until February 2, the conference will bring together more than one hundred professors, researchers and university students, and guests from Ecuador, Chile and Venezuela.
Called by the "Manuel Fajardo" Faculty of Physical Culture and the Granma Sports Office, the event seeks to foster scientific development in that field by means of the socialization of physical exercise.
In a press conference, Oscar Nuevo, president of the organizing committee said debates will focus on the relation between physical activity and quality of life, and of psychosocial factors and the practice of sports.
Nuevo added that participants will tackle issues related to training programs in the field, technologies applied on sports, sports and sustainable development, and participative research.
The conference includes two symposiums, a workshop and scientific panels, four master lectures, and a posters exhibition.
