Researching, promoting and getting to know the state and evolution of the computing scence in Latin American and the Caribbean through an exchange of experiences with 0rganizatons, specialists and the public are the objectives of the International event on Computing Science in Latin America and the Caribbean (HICAL 2018).
In the event, which will be carried out from March 19th through the 23rdon the context of the XVII Convention and International Computing Science 2018 Fair, there will be four main subject matters.
It is about the ones entitled ‘History of the Computing Sciences in our region”, “training of the staff of these branches’,’ the reestablishment of the national policies in the computing sector, the evolution and perspectives of the electronic government and the Computing Science Association in Latin America and the Caribbean.’
During the debates, the related experiences and projects in different nations will be analyzed, the development of the first computers and computing applications in Latin America.
The data networks and international connections, the development of institutions at different levels for the training of human resources and the models of training used in early ages, as well as the evolution and development of strategies in the international, national and local spheres, among other aspects.
One of the main themes of the HICAL 2016 will be the influence left by Fidel Castro in the foundation and development of the institutionalization of the computing science in Cuba, taking into account his thought and guideline about the effectiveness of that process.
