The former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, described the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro as a worldwide leader whose ideas will last for his defense of political principles and humanist values.
According to Prensa Latina news agency, Ahmadinejad went to the Cuban embassy in Teheran to sign the condolences book open for the passing of Fidel last November 25 at 90.
The former president expressed his condolences to Cuban ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez and recalled he had met Fidel in 2012 during his official visit to Cuba.
He spoke of the qualities of Fidel that led him to become a great leader of world prominence. He also asked the ambassador to convey his condolences for the demise to the Cuban President Raul Castro and his people.
