Matanzas beat Granma, tie semifinal playoff in Cuban baseball

Matanzas tied 2-2 the semifinal series against Granma when beating them away 9-3 at Martires de Barbados Park.

The Crocodiles offensive included 16 hits with highlight for second baseman Juan Torriente and third baseman Jefferson Delgado who drove in three runs a piece.

Reliever Livan Moinello earned the win after allowing no hits with six strikeouts in four innings of work, while Lazaro Blanco, leader in wins of the season, took the loss when surrendering 5 runs in six and a third innings, with three strikeouts and same amount of walks.

The fifth game of this playoff will be today at 3:15 pm and the possible starting pitchers are Frank Monthiet for Matanzas and Yoalkis Cruz for Granma.
