Mexican President receives Diaz-Canel

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador received this Thursday his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, on an official visit to that country, the first he has made since taking office.
According to the Cuban Presidency on Twitter, López Obrador received the Cuban leader in an official ceremony that took place in the National Palace.
In the Palace's Courtyard of Honor, the national anthems of "#Mexico and #Cuba, two peoples with close ties throughout history," were heard, the Presidency tweeted.
The National Palace is located in the Historic Center of Mexico City and is the headquarters of the Federal Executive Branch of the United Mexican States.
According to the Mexican agency Notimex, the two leaders are expected to discuss cooperation for the development of their respective nations in areas such as health, education and sports.
The Cuban delegation is made up of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, and Energy and Mines, Raul Garcia Barreiro.
Eugenio Martínez Enríquez and Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, directors general of Latin America and the Caribbean, and of Consular Affairs and Cubans residing abroad, respectively; as well as the Cuban ambassador to Mexico, Pedro Núñez Mosquera, complete the delegation.
