Nigeria’s Film Festival Features Latin American Movies

HAVANA, CUBA.- With the inauguration Tuesday of Nigeria’s Film Festival in Abuja, the people of the African country will have the opportunity of enjoy recent film productions from Latin American and Caribbean countries, including Cuba.

Hosted by the Sivlerbird cultural center, the Festival includes two Cuban films, one of them based on the life of famous Cuban singer Benny More, named “El Benny”; the other one is “Cronicas del diario de Mauricio,” diplomatic sources reported.

Cuban ambassador to Nigeria Elio Savon Oliva who spoke at the inauguration of the Festival said Nigerians will be able to learn a little bit about the live and culture of Latin American and Caribbean nations through the films chosen for the festival.

Other countries represented in the event running until November 28 are Argentina, Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.
