Note by General Staff of the Civil Defense of Cuba on perceptible earthquake

The General Staff of the Civil Defense of Cuba issued its Informative Note No. 1 on a perceptible earthquake in the national territory.
At 14:10 hours the National Seismological Service station network recorded a 7.1 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale, 123.6 km west-southwest of Cabo Cruz in the province of Granma and at a depth of 20.7 kilometers. This is the second perceptible earthquake this year.
According to the tsunami surveillance systems there is no danger of the occurrence of this phenomenon.
Perceptibility reports were received from all across the country, although no damages or material or human losses were reported.
The National Center for Seismological Research and the Institute of Marine Sciences maintain permanent surveillance, it is recommended that the population to be attentive to the official information by national institutions.
