More than 50 countries have confirmed their participation in the 37th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2019), to be held from November 4 to 8 at the Expocuba exhibition center, and will be dedicated to the 500 anniversary of Havana.
In a press conference, Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, stated that with the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States, FIHAV will consolidate itself as one of the most representative trade events in Latin America and the Caribbean.
He also informed that the 4th Business Forum will take place as part of the fair to foster bilateral meetings between Cuban businessmen and potential foreign investors. On this occasion, the new Foreign Investment Opportunities Portfolio and Cuba's Third Commercial Directory will be presented.
The Mariel Special Development Zone, whose mission is to reduce import costs and facilitate foreign investment, will occupy a stand in Expocuba to show the main advances of 30 of its productive companies.
One of the highlights of FIHAV 2019 will be the presentation of the One Stop Shop for Foreign Trade, a platform to inform and streamline export procedures in the face of the need to boost foreign investment, in the context of the computerization process developed by the country.
The Havana International Fair is an annual multi-sector trade event whose main issues are raw materials, food and beverages, consumer goods, equipment and technology, among others.
