The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani reiterated his willingness to consolidate and expand cooperation relations with Cuba during a meeting in the capital Doha with visiting Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez, who is on a tour of Middle East countries up to November 28.

According to PL news agency, Al-Thani the talks focused on exploring new opportunities for bilateral exchange, particularly in the health sector.

Foreign minister Rodriguez will conclude his visit to Qatar on Friday after touring projects of cultural, social, scientific and economic interest and following a meeting with the Cuban medical brigade working in a Cuban Hospital in Qatar, which was opened in January 2012.

The Middle East visit, which includes the United Arab Emirates, aims at consolidating political exchange and considering ways to strengthen cooperation between that part of the world and Cuba.
