Russia Considers Absurd the Monroe Doctrine on Latin America

María Zajarova, who is the spokesperson from the Russian Foreign Affair Ministry, declared that the Monroe Doctrine of the United States is absurd and she reminded to it that we are in the XXI century when the slavery and the US. Racial a segregation and the slavery are over, according to a report by Prensa Latina news agency.

“It seems the US. Government finds hard to understand that all of that already happened long ago.” María Zajarova pointed out to the television from Moscow.

She also highlighted that interfering policy of that doctrine is currently violated as it stipulates that neither Europe would participate in the Latin American region´s issues or the United States in European ones.

Those declarations by the Russian Foreign Affairs minister responded to a question about the use of the 19-century doctrine by the United States in Venezuela as if Latin America was its exclusive zone and back yard.

On the other hand, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Serguei Lavrov, considered that the Monroo Doctrine was an insult for Latin America and he called the governments to react before its application, regardless of their position about the Venezuelan government.
