NUEVA GERONA, Cuba.- Members of the second group of the South American Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba spoke highly of the education system on the Caribbean island, after speaking with pioneer children of the Isle of Youth on Wednesday.
The 111 delegates from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil knew more about the educational and out-of-school activities of the members of the Jose Marti Pioneer Children Organization in this municipality, while the latter learned about the reality of their contemporary students in South America.
Cuban education is almost unique in the world, because its free of charge and one of the basic rights of all Cuban children and youngsters, asserted Argentinean fine arts professor Marcela Majluft, who said she was pleasantly impressed while listening to primary and high school children talk about their national heroes.
Likewise, Chilean teacher Maria Jose Vinero expressed the support of the brigadistas for the struggle in favor of the return to Cuba of Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez, and Rene Gonzalez, unfairly condemned in the US for fighting terrorism.
We’re impressed by Cuba’s achievements in various fields of its economic and social life. It’s now our turn to talk in our countries about what we have seen here and on the importance of this nation for Latin America and the rest of the world, pointed out Brazilian Joao Frederico Hofstëtter Trott.
For us, Revolution is love, because with that feeling you built and defend a fair country, underlined Argentinean professor Roberto Riachi.
