All the Cuban sport movement is backed by the educational centres that are part of a solid structure of the local Initiation Sport Schools (EIDE) in each of the Cuban provinces, as well as the academies of some sport disciplines that also exist in the different territories.

For instance, our national sport, which is baseball, has academies in almost all the nation and there are also special centres for cycling in Cienfuegos and Guantánamo provinces, as well as the academies for sports disciplines such as Chess, Beach Volleyball, Water Polo, Sailing and other ones located in other local regions.

In addition, we have the Girardo Córdova cardín and Cerro Pelado High Performance Centres for our national juvenile and adult teams, as well as the Physical Culture and Sports Sciences University, the Physical Education International School and provincial sport institutions. Besides, other sport disciplines have their own schools like in the case of Volleyball and Boxing, just to mention two examples.

Anyway, all the aforementioned structure, which is conceived for the creation of disciplined and responsible male and female athletes, began recently as part of the 2012-2013 academic course as a way to upgrade and surpass all the work that had been previously carried out.

It is undoubtedly a really honourable task with a great social significance which is carried out by teachers and coaches with great responsibility given they are convinced of the importance of the work they carry out. Good luck and results for all of them!
