Cienfuegos, Cuba. With the presence of the president of the Gran Caribe Hotel group, Eduardo Acosta D Arriba, it was inaugurated the fourth hotel named Encanto Perla del Mar Hotel in Cienfuegos province which makes it the leading one in relation to this type of structures in the local Tourism Ministry.

The Encanto Perla del Mar Hotel that has nine luxury rooms, which dates back to the year 1950, is part of the Jagua, Casa Verde and Palacio del Valle complexes that are located in the Punta Gorda residential neighbourhood. Besides, the aforementioned hotel will be part of the San Carlos Hotel’s investment project in the city next year.

Lidia Esther Brunet Nodarse, official of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party, gave recognitions to the sponsor enterprises of the full repair investment like the local Inmobiliaria del Turismo (tourist property enterprise).

The aforementioned official highlighted the intense investment process carried out for the refurbishment of the Habana Libre, Riviera, El Capri, Plaza hotels, as well as the Nacional hotel which is yearly financed to keep it properly given its emblematic condition.

Lidia Esther Brunet Nodarse pointed out that the construction of new hotels began with the movement of soil in Cayo Coco to build a five-start hotel with 518 rooms that should be finished by the end of the 2014 year. Besides, the International hotel of Varadero, with 800 rooms, will begin next year.

´We are not talking of their redesigning as they are new hotels that will increase the Gran Caribe hotel chain’s capacity to almost 14 thousand rooms, thus increasing their new incomes and efficiency.´ Lidia Esther Brunet Nodarse said.

´By the end of the first six months of the current year, the aforementioned hotel chain grew up to and eleven per cent of the tourist income in comparison to the previous one and a six per cent of tourists due to the new price of the tourist package and the local hotels´ middle average.´ Lidia Esther Brunet Nodarse commented.

´The plan is conceived for four million tourists and more than 300 thousand national ones given that the internal segment constitutes an important market for the local incomes.´ Lidia Esther Brunet added.

The Gran Caribe hotel chain has more than twelve thousand rooms worldwide, as well as 44 ones in Cuba.

´Cienfuegos has properly maintained all these years the Jagua hotel and the Tourism Ministry gave to the Gran Caribe hotel chain, the Unión, Palacio Azul, Rancho Luna and the Faro Luna hotels which is located in the main hotel square of the city which allows to develop the local hotel complex according to the requirements in terms of proper service, quality and incomes.´ Lidia Esther Brunet concluded.
