The Reason the Phrase Going for more is Not a Mere Slogan

Answering the Cuban people´s mandate and working for the people properly, as well as establishing a related link and a permanent debate and dialogue with the population by taking into account the solutions to the problems that we have, are difficult.

Therefore, it is always necessary to face each problem through some alternatives and using the social communication as a working tool. Those were the main guidelines presented by the Cuban president Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez and his cabinet.

In the middle of tense situations caused by the regional and international context and especially for the strengthening of the U.S. economic blockade on Cuba, the nation has not stopped by prioritizing its Economic Plan, along with participation of the local workers and the officials´ guiding work nationwide.

Advancing in the computerization process and including the local universities in the search for solutions to the nation´s problems and strengthening the tourism joint work with other sectors of the economics, as well as encouraging the proper exporting experiences to be used in new sectors are key issues to be defended by all of us as they are our main economic and financial processes.

Nevertheless, absolutely anything would be possible if we do not take into account, the ethic that should feature the leaders´ work and the permanent contact with the people.

Then we go for more and that is not a mere slogan, it is a phrase that summarizes the projection on the government´s related practice in a blockaded country. However, a nation convinced of its historic responsibility in terms of advancing and consolidating the local revolutionary process since more than 60 years ago,

What does Vamos por Más (We Go for More) stand for? I means strengthening the Socialist state-run enterprise, eliminate violations, encouraging exportations, as well as fulfilling the enterprises ´production plans, strengthening the non-state run sector, strengthening the citizens and the society´s values, solving problems and look for solutions.

In the middle of a complex economic situation worsened by the U.S. hostile policy, Cuba does not renounces to its economic and social development and encouraging its people wellbeing. However, it is necessary to take into account that we also have to do our best to identify and unlock the related obstacles and what some people call the internal blockade and that is to say our inadequacies.

The local obstacles made by us, the bureaucracy we have and all of that this prevent us to advance properly and we have our own principles that we have been defending in terms of the updating of our economic and social model.

The Cuban president has reiterated that when we say ´Going for More´ it means the translation of the government´s language into practice for the enemy´s political answer. It is the realization of our will for not being distracted by the pressures and threats and resisting creatively without renouncing to the development.

Then, we should stop believing and stating that the blame belongs to the other without we are doing, creating, contributing to each of us.

If each Cuban asked themselves the question about what could we contribute with, then the phrase ´We Would Go for More´ is a conviction and not a Slogan.
