The main office of the educational computing from the Ministry of Education is carrying out a group of projects such as the virtual visits to museums and different places nationwide that provide knowledge and culture to people, especially for the new generations.
Architect, Fernando Rodríguez, specialist of the Media Resources department from the aforementioned institution, explained to Radio Rebelde news agency the fact that a computer product is different from the video one given that it allows that the user could watch towards all directions as well as interacting with the objects. It is like having a permanent guide and being personally on the site, although it is done through the computer.
Fernando Rodríguez said that after a first experience carried out at the National Literacy Campaign museum, it was also carried out at the Segundo Frente memorial as well as at the Estudios Martianos center and at the Playa Girón museum in Matanzas province.
“The idea is also about the fact that children and adults could be able to value the importance of preserving the planet. We should do it already given that it is of great interest that students from other provinces could share this experience in the same way that we would love to enjoy any other interesting experience from them.”He said.
“It is a very complete project of collaboration about sharing knowledge and visual ideas. We do it through satellite maps where there could be placed the views and the information is transmitted.”
“It reintroduces the idea on the Almendares park as It is placed a digital destination on the site and due to its light weight the tridimensional images arrive to any territory nationwide in which our system is being used and later some views are sent, thus having finally a common platform of work.”
Fernándo Rodríguez says that he is feeling very interested on the idea of carrying out a new virtual visit during the celebration of the 11th Plastic Arts Biennial of Havana city in the upcoming months of May and June as part of its 28 years of having been created.
“After watching the Biennial’s web pages, they verified that on the theme of the artistic practices and social images there will be 31 points located on the main intersections of Havana city in order to watch exhibitions, performances and other cultural expressions of the plastic arts. We have them located in a map and we want to visit those places to watch their views.” Fernándo added.
“The idea is about that all those ephemeral works of cultural importance can be included in the abovementioned computer products that have other visual variants such as photos, videos and sounds that could be later logically enjoyed by the new generations.” By Teresa Valenzuela
