According to Prensa Latina news agency, the musician was highly commended by the event’s jury for his performance of Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in A Major and Chopin’s Ballade 3 opus
Gonzalez, 15, concluded his presentation in the senior category – in which another 50 competitors participated – with a performance of Alexander Scriabian’s Study Op.8 No.12 “Pathetic”.
According to the source, the pianist said that his performance of Chopin’s Ballade impressed the jury, although they noted that he held back feelings that only came to the surface at the end of Scriabian’s Study.
González Buajasán holds a scholarship at the National Conservatory of Ile de France, where he studies piano, organ, harmony, music theory and accompaniment.
Besides this prize, the young musician had won other awards, including the Flamme International in which artists from 30 countries took part.
