Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodr\u00edguez Parrilla has denounced the U.S. government\u2019s attempt to isolate the island at the United Nations and prevent its legitimate cooperation with the organization\u2019s agencies and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a message on Twitter, the Foreign Minister emphasized that, nevertheless, Washington continues to fail in this \u201cpernicious attempt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He specified that this Wednesday, Cuba presented the Cuba-UNICEF Country Program 2026-2030, which was approved with only one dissenting vote: that of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rodr\u00edguez Parrilla noted that the overwhelming approval of the Cuban project demonstrates the international community\u2019s willingness to support the island\u2019s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presenting the program during the First Ordinary Session of the UNICEF Executive Board, Cuba\u2019s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Sober\u00f3n Guzm\u00e1n, emphasized that the document establishes a strategic cooperation framework to strengthen the well-being of children and adolescents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that the Program is based on Cuba\u2019s commitment to the full enjoyment of children\u2019s rights, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic, the Family Code, the Comprehensive Policy for Children, Adolescents, and Youth, and the new Children, Adolescents, and Youth Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its implementation, Sober\u00f3n Guzm\u00e1n added, will contribute to preserving the social gains achieved, ensuring access to essential resources, and mobilizing national and international partnerships to support economic recovery and the comprehensive well-being of future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
