it is a product of the alliance with the magazine Cuba Socialista.

Meanwhile, Playa Girón at the UN: The Famous Roa vs. Stevenson Debate addresses the 1961 political confrontation between then-Foreign Minister Raúl Roa, known as the Chancellor of Dignity, and the U.S. delegate to the United Nations, Adlai Stevenson.

Legañoa explained that the presentation of the texts connects three fundamental battles: the political one, in the words of the Commander-in-Chief; the diplomatic one, in the voice of the Chancellor of Dignity; and the communicational one, present then and still relevant in a space like Patria.

The Roa debate is a gem of Cuban narrative; Roa managed to outwit his opponents with impressive academic and intellectual rigor, the agency’s president noted.

Both emphasized the historical and educational value of the publications, designed especially for new generations. “These are books for young people, because three generations have been born since the Bay of Pigs invasion, and the latest barely knows the slogans of that victory; we must return to Fidel and Roa,” the Cuban journalist pointed out.

He also stressed that the ideas of homeland, sovereignty, and independence permeate both volumes, and the Bay of Pigs confrontation remains a point of reference for understanding current challenges.

“The Bay of Pigs in Cuba 65 years ago is also the Bay of Pigs in Iran, Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and southern Lebanon,” Legañoa noted, highlighting the enduring relevance of resistance against imperialism.

During the presentation, David Deutschmann announced that the publishing house will conclude the year with 40 titles in Spanish and the same number in English, all dedicated to the work of Fidel Castro.

“The best way to learn about Martí, Che, and Fidel is to read them,” he stated, emphasizing that Ocean Sur and Ocean Press’s commitment to Cuba is greater than ever.

[ SOURCE: PRENSA LATINA ]

The Ocean Sur publishing house presented new books about the Bay of Pigs invasion, the first major defeat of imperialism in Latin America, and the famous debate between diplomats Raúl…
