Global Sumud Maghreb Mission Remains Incommunicado Inside Eastern Libya<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThrough a message posted in Arabic on X, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned that all territory extending from the Israeli border to the Zahrani River would become \u201ca combat zone.\u201d This implies that Israel seeks to take control of at least 18% of Lebanese territory, an area where 800,000 people lived before the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the second mass expulsion order issued today by Israeli occupation forces. Earlier, they issued an order against Tyre, a city of about 200,000 residents that subsequently came under bombardment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lebanon\u2019s National News Agency reported that two people were killed and one was injured in Israeli bombardments in the Deir Amas area in the southern district of Tyre, where residents had previously received \u201crandom telephone calls from Israel urging them to evacuate their homes immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justifying the offensive as targeting alleged command centers of the resistance movement Hezbollah, the Zionist army also attacked towns in the Bekaa Valley and other locations in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On March 12, before the ceasefire agreement, Israel had already issued an identical displacement order for the entire southern area of Lebanon, also demanding that residents leave their homes beyond the Zahrani River, which runs about 25 miles north of the Israeli-Lebanese border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until now, Israel had occupied and operated south of Lebanon\u2019s Litani River, between 6 and 9 miles farther south, but with Wednesday\u2019s evacuation orders it is progressively reducing, through military force, the territory available to the Lebanese population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced an escalation of attacks on Lebanon and the seizure of new \u201cstrategic zones.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From March 2 through May 26, Israeli occupation forces have killed 3,213 Lebanese people and injured 9,737 others, according to Lebanon\u2019s Emergency Operations Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
